GSCS At Home Learning Day
Dear Moreland Road Families: To make up for the learning loss caused by the school closures on September 26 and 27, 2024, students will be expected to participate in an at-home learning day on November 5, 2024, completing assignments at home at their own pace. Student Expectations: **Students will participate in the At-Home Learning Day on November 5, 2024. **Students will complete virtual learning assignments online during At-Home Learning Day. **Students will complete their assignments anytime during the At-Home Learning Day; they do not have to be logged into a program during school hours. **A device is available for students during the At-Home Learning Day; however, students may opt to use a personal device that he/she has at home. --CANVAS page will automatically launch once students log into their devices. --No Hotspots will be provided, so student computers need to be set up for “offline” usage. --Chargers will not be sent home. **Work will be graded as a daily assignment. All assignments are due by Friday, November 8, 2024. If you have not returned the "yellow" and "blue" forms sent home this week, please complete the Device Request and electronic Student Technology Agreement via the link below: https://forms.gle/zEgPjd9HmFQkt6zM9 If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Andrews at anissa.andrews@gscs.org. Thank you for your help in this!!

Last evening GSCS held a town hall meeting to open a conversation about students’ cell phone use in school. Do cell phones compliment students' educational experience or create conflict? Schools across the state and nation have implemented policies regarding cell phones. Click this link to watch a video of an example of one option. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRQa8X5ORek There is no proposal in GSCS, at this time, we simply would like to gather feedback from staff, students, parents and community members on this subject. Use the following link or scan the QR code in the image to take the survey. https://tejoin.com/scroll/624212205 Please complete the survey questions and answer the primary question in the Thought Exchange then please rate at least ten of the thoughts that others have shared. If the thought is something you believe has merit and should be further discussed rate it a four or a five. If the idea is not something that resonates as needing additional conversation rate it lower (1,2,3). Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.
